Voice-mail is like printers, and then there's YouMail I don't know what I've been doing wrong but voice-mail is a huge pain point to me. I was so close to making my voice-mail message say "please don't leave me a voice mail, just text me," but YouMail solved my problems! I get timely notifications, and it's so easy to check without having to call a number like a neanderthal. I took off a star because it's not the prettiest app, and they do constantly ask to upgrade for voice to text (but it's not with pop up notifications, so it's not very invasive).An Android User
