Mediacom is in my contacts

This caller is not Mediacom and has no association with them. I do have Mediacom and I don’t know how they got my number this is a problem. This caller should be associated with a high risk as they are trying to get information such as a Social Security number. Do not answer.

Caller claimed to be Mediacom "fraud department" but would not tell me the reason for the call unless I provided name and last 4 of SSN. I told them I would not do that and to please use an alternate form of verification. They refused and just said they suggest I call Mediacom directly. If it is Mediacom it is BS to ask for that information without providing anything. It is also BS to say I need to call back since they provided no information. It seems like a scam. Numbers can be spoofed easily.

Mediacom put out a notice about this scam.
