RoboKiller caught the call and the “caller” failed the screening. Caller ID said Sprint but I called sprint and they said they had no need to call, not even promos. This number has come up as a scam in prior calls when googled.
They leave a message stating someone in Nigeria has charged $1280.00 to my Amazon account and I don't have one. They tell me to call the number in my text. 877-227-8411. I want this to stop.
07/18/2020 Received call. Delay before female Asian, very poor English, comes online and identifies as "AT&T DirectTV". They had my name and address, but wrong zipcode. They claimed that they saw that I had DirectTV (I do NOT!). Offering me a $25 a month discount because of the poor service they had been providing. A technician would be coming out to replace my box. Pushed for credit card number (that they claim they would not be charging.) Gave them a bogus number.
I was told they were ATT DirecTV and offering free upgrades on dvrs, etc. Went thru the process, about 40 minutes and then they asked for my bankcard#...I do online banking (and have many yrs), they said it HAD to be a bank card. They transferred me to this 'Davis' and I told him I would have to get my card and call him back. While I was looking up the number he gave me (he called 3 times) and I got my bill and called ATT (288-2020#) and spoke to Greg who told me they do NOT call customers for upgrades and we have the most recent upgrades...that the call must have been a scam. So, beware and stay sharp, don't let these thieves get one red cent! Not my first, or last, scam call.
