Robocalled a few times, but it had personal info sounded like it might just be legit. It then wanted to validate month and year of birth, but when entered correct data, it said that was wrong and wanted more data, so I hung up. Got several more calls. DuckDuckGo'ed for the number, lots say spam, others say not. Looked up actual RBC 1-800 number from reliable source, was warned going to be LONG wait, but said fraud was purpose of call and got through right away. RBC security said this number is in fact a real RBC number that does make outgoing calls when credit card payments were late (mine was). I explained it rejected right date, he checked birth date is right, unknown why rejected. Since scammers can spoof a call display number, be a great number for them to use, RBC customers might be familiar with calls and would enter data in that would be very valuable to scammers. Or maybe that's what I got - looks like a real number, is a real number, but still a scam call...
Not Spam. Calling to let you know your payment may be late. Call your bank
I called RBC at 1-800-ROYAL-11 and they confirmed that this is a legitimate Royal Bank phone number. Call the bank yourself to confirm.
