Okay, the number is legit, everytime it ask for your card just press 0 + # and it will route you to a live person. The department knew all of my info with them with only my number. People can spoof numbers though so always call them and don't provide them with any info if they call. I prank called my sister from the white house's number a few years back using a website to fake the number and it looked real.

After 2 calls from a "Synchrony" Caller ID, & no voicemails, I called back. She claimed to be Synchrony & said the call was being recorded (no mention of "for quality/training purposes"). She didn't provide her name & didn't know why I was getting calls & said my CareCredit account is from 2017, which is accurate. She asked for my name, suspiciously not how to spell my complicated last name, & phone # & advised me to wait til they call again because they usually only call to collect past due payments. She asked if I changed my marital name, said it might be a wrong #, again assured me to wait if they call again, then asked for my social which I refused. She didn't do any typical "thanks for calling" speech.
