SPAM. msg from company I have never dealt with. Getting 2 to 3 calls per day

I returned a call to this number from which the person began to verify name and last four of SSN. I did not give the information because I did not know to whom I was speaking. After asking several times whether, if I called a number I knew to be Fingerhut, would I reach someone that was aware of the purpose of the current call. The operative claimed static and disconnected.

Calls but hangs up. No idea why
