This is a call back that I requested that you refused to allow me to take
Received a call from 808-531-8722 stating they were from USAA banking and were calling because there was suspicious activity on my debit card. They asked if I was traveling. When I asked what company they were from they repeated the same thing word for word. USAA does not have a location in Hawaii so I knew this was a scam and hung up. They immediately tried calling 3 more times.
Said they were USAA fraud investigators, they were not. Took money from my account.
Some scammer just called to verify that I had charged $xx to my credit card ending w/ ####. Told him I didn’t think I had a card w/ those nos. Asked him for his no & I’d call the co. He hung up. USAA 800-531-8722
FAKE number do not answer - tried to steal all my sister’s money.
The imposter used a counterfeit USAA 800 number and claimed that there had been dubious behavior on my USAA account. Once I mentioned that I didn't possess a bank account or credit card, the swindler terminated the call.
Scammers spoofed the USAA customer service number to get my bank PIN. It literally appeared in caller ID as 800-531-8722, which is the USAA customer service line. Throughout, the person sounded professional (save for mispronouncing my sometimes-mispronounced last name). If someone calls you from this number, and they ask for your PIN, verification code, or password, DO NOT TRUST THEM. As per the USAA website: "USAA will never call you, and then ask you for your one-time verification code, password or USAA PIN."
Fake called from USAA, said suspicious activity etc on my account. Apparently a grand was sent out (but it wasn’t missing from my account because they “blocked” it), and I “didn’t get any notifications because the fraudulent charger changed the notification email and phone number on my account”. Really believable scam, but I hung up and checked my USAA account and called back the USAA number I found in the app—sure enough it was a scam. Be careful
