Edit 2015-09-05: I removed YouMail because it was causing issues with my volume control on my G4. I couldn't adjust system, media or ringer volumes. When I tried it would show an in-call volume slider even though I wasn't in a call. I had to kill the YouMail service to recover volume control. This was also preventing calls from coming through. I saw that there was an update with some bug fixes so I decided to try it again because I really do like YouMail. I did what you suggested to restart email notifications and it worked perfectly. Let's see what happens with the volume control. I'll keep you updated. Thanks!
