Ugh...they've called me twice with different scams. Once saying I have a virus on my computer and another time saying that my computer purchase is owed a refund and they need my credit card to credit it bank to me. Scammers.
Scam! They called me about a "virus on my computer". Scumbags. Don't answer.
Scammer uses various scams such as the popular "car warranty expiring" scam. I got another call a couple days ago from an identical scam; they claim that your car warranty is expiring to try to get you to shell out money to them for a "renewed car warranty". Also, they sometimes run a computer virus scam. These don't make much sense honestly because they say that they're aware that your computer has a virus and they'll kindly help you fix it. They don't know anything about your computer, chances are, but if they succeed in their scam, then they'll know quite a bit!
I think when it is the cable company it may actually be a real caller but the other instances all seem like total scams. They may be spoofing the cable company's number. I would be very careful if you're going to pick up the call. They say your computer has a virus and they need to fix it, and also that your car's warranty is expiring and they'll renew that for you if you just pay them (of course).
Computer virus scam I think? I kind of heard what they had to say a couple hours ago then hung up and I'm just now getting around to commenting. Don't need you!
