The calling party frequently calls using this phony number.. i.e. it doesn't exist according to telephone carrier. Assume it's an off-shore scammer.

I keep getting calls from this number trying to sell me a vehicle service policy on a vehicle I do not own. telling them to stop and desist is useless as they call frequently.

Thank you all, very much, for your reports! My call was a message from a blocked CallerID. It was an identical message to what you’ve posted here. I started to call back, because while I’ve been overloaded with car warranty scam calls, this one sounded a little more legit, as I’m waiting for a reimbursement from Ford. I was annoyed because the repair reimbursement had nothing to do with a car warranty, so I started to call back. (I didn’t notice it was after 8 PM EST.). I got a weird, speeded up message, and the wait music was oddly sped up, too. I hung up and searched the callback number “Danielle” gave (888-537-1018), and found your wonderful scam report. Thank you, very much!

They have used many numbers this week bc I answered one thinking it might be for a job. They said they were part of SMECO and tried to get info for an envualution on HVACs. They asked things they should already know. I have called and let SMECO know each time so they could get them shut off.
