Evening this is Dr. Christopher Bernier superintendent of schools for the second time in six weeks one of our schools was the target of a hoax 911 call today claiming an active shooter was on campus Mariner High school was immediately placed on a lock down the school resource officers started searching the campus and within two minutes the Cape Coral Police Department responded in full force. Those officers the product research the school and kept everyone safe. They have my sincere thanks for the aerobic actions. It is important to remember that the students and staff were never exposed to an active shooter. Nevertheless it felt real to those on campus and the parents responding to information spreading on social media. Our school counselors and district personnel will be available to anyone on campus who needs them.
