This number tried to call me twice in two days, and both times I let it go to voicemail because I did not recognize the number. They never did leave a voicemail, so being cautious of scams, I googled the phone number and saw one person reported here that this is a Chase fraud number. Still skeptical, I called the number on the back of an actual Chase credit card and asked them directly about telephone number 877–470–1625. The customer service rep told me Chase did NOT own that number. It’s likely a scam, so I blocked the number.
They answered as Chase Fraud Department (NOT Bk of America). But they said they could Not pull up my Chase account and asked for my Social Security #, my birth date, my full account number. I told them I did not feel comfortable giving them this info over the phone. So I called the Chase Bank 800 number > explained the first call > they had someone from Chase Fraud Department get on the phone. She said the 877-470-1625 was one of theirs.
Then she reviewed my account said was ok and someone must have called me in error because my transaction they needed to verify from 2 weeks ago had not been closed out. So, I think I am ok with Chase, but the first call Could Have Been a Spam/scan.
Regards a BankAmerica Credit Card confirmation.
It is safe.
It really is bank of America.
I just opened a BoA credir acvount so this is a legit call. Not spam
I did just get a new BOA CC. So The call seems to be legit.
They said that they're Bank of America but it also could be somebody spoofing the number and trying to scam you!
