This is a horrible scam that preys on the elderly and barely computer literate that my 91 year old mother fell for that cost her $6006. Somehow these Indian or Bangladeshian scammers infiltrated her laptop and caused it to lockup on a page they created saying it was Microsoft and her computer was infected and she could lose everything if she didn’t call a number they provided within 24 hours. They talked her in to giving them full remote access to her laptop and they caused so much damage, telling her the laptop was so infected with viruses it would never work again unless they “fixed” it for over $600. She didn’t know any better and was so afraid her computer would crash so she did everything they told her to do. I was able to get the $600 refunded by her credit card company, but these guys call INCESSENTLY! I have spoken to the FBI about this and they are aware of it and are actively investigating. They want people who get these calls to report it to your local FBI office

Caller insisted that he worked on my computer last week and asked how it was working now. (My computer was not worked on last week). I called him a liar and hung up.
