Just received a call from the above number and did not answer it. I can't believe that, so soon after buying a brand new track phone, I've been receiving a ton of spam calls.
They keep calling me from different numbers. They leave the same voicemail telling me they are calling concerning me, someone with my name, phone number, and Social Security Number. They say they are calling because there are several complaints about me. If I don't respond, they will be filing on my county. I can call them back at this number. Sometimes the call comes from Washington D.C. and the number I should call them at is in Minneapolis or St. Paul, which is in Minnesota. The caller says use reference number and then dead air for the last several seconds of the call. If there really were a vali s, legal complaint with standing, they would have filed by now,and I would have gotten something in the mail. The IRS, FBI, and valid government agencies both law enforcement and regulatory do these things in writing and in person. Not over the Internet, via emails, or voicemail. And legitimate U.S Law enforcement don't try to intimidate either.
If you or someone else has a CPAP device tied to your phone number, you may get calls like these when you appear to be having trouble getting a good night of sleep. It's not a scam.
